Breastfeeding is Awesome, but Some of Us Can’t

Before I get going with this, I want to reiterate that I am not an expert, specialist, lactation guru, professional, or anything other than a mother that tried breastfeeding and failed.

Breastfeeding is great for babies, no doubt, but I feel like women are pressured and made to feel guilty if they either choose not to breastfeed, or can’t.

I always thought I would be that mother that breastfed my baby for a year or so. Formula stinks, it’s expensive, and it’s not natural. Breast milk doesn’t make baby’s spit ups and poops stink, it’s free, and it’s totally natural! Why wouldn’t I want to breastfeed my baby?

Of course, if things had gone according to plan for me, this blog wouldn’t exist, now would it?

Due Date Shmue Date

My little man was due today, June 21st, 2018.


My little man was born April 7th, 2018 instead.

One of the (many) things I was upset about missing out on, was Kaden’s monthly pictures. I had taken pictures of my niece every month for her first year of life, in the same chair. I’m sure you’ve seen what I’m talking about on Pinterest.

Becoming a Momma

Warning: This post is my very raw, traumatic, and emotional birth experience.

It brought up some painful memories for me and I cried while writing…you might too.

It’s hard decide where to start with my story.

Do I start when I decided I wanted to have a baby, or when I started trying to get pregnant, or when I finally got pregnant, or when my munchkin came into the world?

Well, since we’re just getting to know one another, how about I start with my Little’s birth. After all, if his story had been different, I might be the momma to a term baby instead of a preemie, and then I may not have stared this blog.
